After visiting the Catholic Church in SheShan Mountain, the girls and I headed for a nature walk. Not knowing where the paved path would lead us, we just started walking. The walk was beautiful. Clean air and greenery everywhere. The atmosphere was quiet, peaceful, & calming. It felt like spring instead of winter. We didn’t see any animals but we could hear the birds chirping in the distance.
One of the paths led to nowhere. A second path led to a roof top. We had to chuckle at this one especially after climbing the stairs. The third path we took led to a locked gate. We had to back track the path back and as we were exiting the area we saw a sign. I took a picture to share with Allison our translator. The sign said the trees were maturing and no admittance.
Great times exploring and cement hiking in Shanghai –
A small walk way
Great viewing area from the top of the mountain
After the church visit, we started on this beautiful path. The fresh air was wonderful.
Along the way, we see this stairway up. We decided to take the stairs and see what was over that way.
Another little walk way leading no where.
This walk way led to a roof top… we laughed and wondered why we would be led to a roof top.
So at the end of the bamboo garden there’s this gate. It’s locked! Ugh.. so we had to back track to the beginning.
As we were exiting the garden we saw this sign on the ground. We had somehow missed it at first. The sign says, “Woods are nurturing, No admittance”. No wonder we didn’t see anyone else on the trail.
Going down the mountain. Again, beautiful scenery and great clean air.
Resting spot and very scenic.
Wooden platform/trail that leads to the exit.
