Seems like it’s been a while since I posted a few photo’s about Luxu. Luxu is our small rural community located an hour from both Shanghai and Suzhou. This little town belongs to Suzhou; however, since Shanghai is so much more convenient as far as transportation goes, we seem to venture to Shanghai more often than Suzhou.
When we first arrived in Luxu we didn’t know what to expect or what we would find. As time has passed we’ve ventured out more and have made some pretty nice discoveries. Also, just recently we discovered there is a swimming pool, billiard hall, & tennis courts in the area. A bit hidden away, but they are there. Pretty exciting stuff for us.
Late last year a rock climbing wall was put up by the lake.
This one confuses me. Why we would have an enormous television screen on the side of a busy intersection is beyond me. But, there you have it.
We now have a billiard hall. This place features 12 foot tables and a clean atmosphere.
Luxu is going green!
Bike rental hubs are going up all over town. This hub is located by the lake.
The bike hub by the open market.
In this area, Electric scooters are highly encouraged . If I had to guess, I would say that about 95% of our shops carry only electric scooters.
An fresh market is readily available with all sorts of fresh fruit and veggies
Beef, chicken, & pork are among many of the meat selections you can find at the open market.
When we have a hankering for American food, we can stop in at the local Japanese house to get our all time favorite, “Beef & Potatoes”. Hands down the best dish they have!
This photo is actually from Hongqiao Railway Station. This is a recharge center for electronic devices. My daughter is charging the phone at no cost. Pretty amazing and great little kiosk to have at the station!
