A Frosty and A Spoon

If you know me, you know that I’m always, always taking snap shots. Whether it’s with my iPhone, point and shoot, or the Nikon, I’m forever taking a photo. At times this can become rather annoying for the subjects. If you ask my husband, he would say, “my wife can be f*kn annoying with her incessant photo taking”. He says this with a smile and lots of love, in a humorous kind of way. I’m sure that’s what he means.

Today, we decided to treat ourselves to an unhealthy snack, a Wendy’s frosty. So what made me take a photo? Right before Mike took a seat he reached behind him and whips out his spoon. In a deep voice he says, “I’ve come prepared.” A commercial moment if you will. This was a spoon from home. He was indeed prepared!

We sit down to enjoy our snack and I (of course) thought the moment was worthy of a snap shot. I mean really, how many people do you know carry their own spoon? So, I take my iPhone out and snap a quick one. Oh, but not before he could wipe the expression off his face, ha! When I looked at the photo on my phone I questioned his expression. His response, “how would you like it if I took a picture of you every time you fart?” Oh my gosh, I couldn’t believe he said this in public and with an older gentleman sitting right behind us. I was stunned, but only for a few seconds. All of a sudden it hit me and I burst into a boisterous laughing fit. I cried. I found it so funny. Even now I’m laughing.

After a few minutes the gentleman behind us gets up to leave but not before he says to us, “you know there is a study that laughing can cure many types of diseases.” Awe.. he had enjoyed my laugh as he was also smiling. I hope that was it and not that he heard my husband say he was taking a picture of me every time I fart. Oh dear heavens.

IMG_5154Yes it’s true, I take way too many pictures. But you know, I seriously love to freeze moments with my pictures. I love it! Mike and I, we are two peas in a pod, we love and laugh with each other all the time. We lovingly poke fun at each other all the time. I love this husband of mine. I especially love that he loves my idiosyncrasy’s.

A Unique Baby Carrier

Quite a unique way of toting a child around. The child back-basket carriers appear to be pretty sturdy and environmentally friendly, a big plus!

This is a very busy part of town with none stop traffic. The carriers are a great alternative to having the children running around and trying to catch up to them. Enjoy!

While my friend was talking to this lady, or attempting to, I was trying to catch a clear picture of this little boy.

This lady was only to happy to turn around and show me the little boy. Quiet little guy.

I know, I know, he's wondering who the heck are those females. ha ha

Weekly Photo Challenge: Inside

I kept wondering what photo’s I would add for this Weekly Photo Challenge. Early today I took a walk through the part of town we call Old Luxu and look what I found! The children are inside the back of a 3 wheeled motor vehicle.  While grandpa was making deliveries the children were kept out of street in the back of the vehicle. Think safety!

Photo’s were taken with an iPhone 4s.

Snow & Smiles in Shanghai

These photo’s were taken in Shanghai, E. Nanjing Pedestrian Street, one of the largest shopping area’s of the city. What was the excitement? Would you believe snow had many people pointing and taking pictures? In the last picture, I was able to capture the young ladies expression, the simple joy of snow and the photo’s she had caught on her camera. Great timing!

Shots taken with iPhone 4s.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Selfie

This weeks Weekly Photo Challenge is a Selfie. Yesterday we had temperatures of 34 F here in Luxu. We finally had a winter like day with a mix of snow. The wet snow reminded me of the beautiful state of Michigan, our home. In a blink of an eye it was gone! So much for enjoying the beauty….

I took this selfie during my walk around the lake. The snow had melt and the day was pretty bright. I don’t take selfies very often and actually I feel quite silly doing so. What the heck, here it goes……

Selfie

The afternoon was so windy I had to wear my scarf over my ball cap so I didn’t lose my cap. I felt silly but didn’t want to lose the ONE cap that fits my big head!…

To give you an idea what the snow was like here is a pic of my husband….

Laundry Day – Using Post Processing and Filters

I read an article about filters on the Daily Post in WordPress and thought I would try the filter process on a snapshot I have that I love.

Look at the detail of the photo: there’s rubble, the little house is in a dilapidated state, the clothes line is made of bamboo and being held together and in place by 5 gallon buckets (not sure what’s in the buckets), and there’s a concrete block with two plants coming out of it. The housing to the right and back of the image show a hint of 2 yellow homes in an improved state.

Let me know what you think and what post processing software you use. Enjoy!

In this photo I used the Orton-ish and Cross Process feature of Picasa. By doing so I've added more color to the photo.

This is the original photo. Does the photo say much? I enjoyed it in it's original form.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Window

I was excited and knew exactly which photo I was going to use for this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge. This is a photo of my daughter taken in December 2012. As we were passing by the girls saw the treats and asked if they could go in. I’m glad I stayed outside and took this photo through the window.

To me her expression is, ohhhh which one should I get. I love her expression.
