Weekly Photo Challenge – Threes

It’s an absolute privilege when I encounter an artist that allows me to photograph him/her while they work. This artist was cleaning a few brushes when we walked up to see his work. I asked if I could photograph him and he nodded his head in approval. I was thrilled!

The time is approximately 2:30, the air is starting to get a bit nippy and the sun is now starting to hide behind a few clouds, peeking out here and there. The building the artist is painting is a small restaurant, although not very clear, there is a man sitting by the window.

He studied the subject as we watched, mixing his paints carefully and wiping it off his brush, mixing again until he had what he was looking for. What a wonderful God given gift to be able to capture on canvas what we see with our eyes. Amazing!

A close up of his artwork. In this photo you can clearly see the man in the window. I wish I could have stayed around longer to see if he would include the man on the bridge. However, as you may know an artist can not be rushed and the multiple strokes he had taken took some time.

  1. That’s a really great painting and your pictures are always wonderful, too. I LOVE art. Probably my favorite destination is any type of gallery or museum. I really enjoy most modern art because it’s so eclectic and “out there” at times, but I also enjoy the history behind the older works of the masters.

    • I love going to museums myself and have often taken the girls with me. I also enjoy the one in Shanghai as it has a whole floor where there is a ton of period correct clothing and shoes. It’s unbelievable! Ready for this one? I can also appreciate graffiti when done artistically… lol… seriously!

    • Thank you! I’m trying to leave a message on your post and for whatever reason my computer freezes up.

I really like the 3 pagoda photo. May I ask what kind of camera you use and lens? Thank you for stopping by and leaving a message. Have a great evening.

      • Thank you back! 2007 to 2013 I had a simple Olympus SP500UZ, very easy, very good pics. In May 2013 I bought a used Nikon D40.but finally SLR. So the three pagodas are taken with the Olympus compact camera.
Well, here in germany is still midday. So have a nce evening…

  3. Watching artists is so mesmerising! We don’t have much artistic talent in our bodies so we could spend hours watching someone else draw, sketch or paint!
These were great photos for the theme ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you for the link back to my blog, love when this happens. I like the photo of Neptuneโ€™s Fountain, looks like something we’ve seen in a movie. How romantic…

      Cheers!

    • Thank you, I wish I had stayed longer. This sounds strange, but I keep thinking of the music of Snatam Kaur (meditation music) when I see the photos. Although, the photo’s have nothing to do with meditation. I think I sound strange so I’ll stop here… ha ha…

Thanks again for visiting, liking, & commenting.
